Access systems engineered for the environments steel cannot serve.
The Taurus Transom™ system: heavy-duty modular access at aluminium-class weight, with reduced conductivity engineered in as a design characteristic. Designed and manufactured in Brisbane, Australia. Available exclusively to international wholesale and export partners.
01
Half the weight of steel
Steel-class load rating at roughly half the weight of steel
02
Reduced conductivity
Engineered in as a design characteristic for high-energy environments
03
Engineered in Australia
Designed and manufactured in Brisbane, with a five-year research and development programme
Conventional scaffold was not built for high-consequence sites.
Conductive steel access is a risk multiplier on live sites. Steel weight slows erection and adds manual-handling and crane load. The Taurus Transom™ was engineered for exactly these environments.
The Taurus Transom™. One system. 25 core components.
The Taurus Transom is the backbone of the Taurus system: a heavy-duty modular access platform built from 25 core components, rated heavy duty at 6.6 kN (675 kg) per bay, per working platform level under AS/NZS 1576.1. Its hybrid aluminium and structural polymer construction, with polymer joint isolation protected by an international patent family, is the result of five years of research and development. Engineered and modelled for a 15+ year service life.
One system. Three advantages.
Reduced conductivity, engineered in
Reduced conductivity is engineered into the Taurus Transom™ as a design characteristic, through polymer joint isolation protected by an international patent family. A formal validation program is underway.
Heavy-duty rating, aluminium-class weight
A steel-class load rating at roughly half the weight of steel, comparable in weight to premium aluminium. Heavy duty: 6.6 kN (675 kg) per bay, per working platform level under AS/NZS 1576.1.
Australian Engineering
Protected by an international patent family (PCT publication WO/2024/254650) and backed by a five-year research and development programme.
Built for high-consequence environments.
A manufacturer, not a reseller
Taurus Scaffolding Systems designs, engineers and manufactures the Taurus Transom™ in Brisbane, Australia, for export markets worldwide.
It started with a problem steel could not solve.
The Taurus Transom was designed to answer one question: how do you put an access structure into an energised environment without the structure itself multiplying the risk? Conductivity was the design driver from day one. The weight saving was the bonus we discovered along the way; weight did not even come into the original brief. Five years of engineering later, both now define the system.
